Ordered this camera after MONTHS of shuffling between canon 80d and this Canon 77d. This camera has basically all of the same exact features besides not having the All-i video capability. If you are only doing YouTube videos (vlogs or other online content) this will do BETTER than just okay! Super happy with this purchase and I found it for $650 on Amazon.

Upgraded from a Rebel T5. I am very happy and there are options which I did not realize were on this camera like the on screen touch focus areas. This was a major upgrade from the T5. I bought this over the 80D because of price and it basically had a lot of the same options except for the weather sealing. If I could go back, I might have tried to wait and get the 80D ONLY for the weather sealing since I primitive camp for long periods of time.

Upgraded from a t4i, and its quite the improvement in focusing speed and accuracy on the same set of glass. Ive tested it with the EFS 18-135 STM, 24mm STM, EF 50mm (a little noisy for video on this) and all of lenses are operating smoother and faster than the t4i. Being Ive owned this for a whooole 3 hours now the initial thoughts and feeling is.. no regrets :) totally a worthwhile upgrade. The body is lighter, so be careful as you may have to adjust tripod weights if youre front heavy (lens doesnt change weight). Things I havent tried yet, but will update subsequently. - Wifi connectivity (in mac os and windows) - Video render / raw view. - learning everything else about the 77d :). Worthwhile if you are coming from at least a t4i or older digital rebel body.

Great camera body, is the perfect mixture of entry level and professional though leans more towards entry level of course. Big upgrade from my previous Canon T3. If upgrading from a much older camera it is a major leap, a lot more features and options you would see on a pro camera which leaves a lot of learning. Read the manual multiple times and still often times go back to reread. Overall excellent camera and would recommend to anyone.

Upgraded from a Canon T5i and am loving it so far. The 18-135 is lightning quick to focus and very quiet. There is a little bit of learning curve as some of the controls and options are slightly different . The creative modes are nice and will require some experimentation. The camera body is about the same size as the t5i. The shutter seems slightly louder. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

I really like this camera. It is made from anywhere to a beginner to an advanced user. You can have it to where you just point and simply push the button and take a picture up to full on manual and be as creative as you want. So anyone can use it and 24mp pictures are crystal clear and big enough for any purpose. One other feature that would appeal to some is it gives 2 different operating screens. One that is guided for those just learning it to the standard screen that shows all the shooting features. Lastly, even though it comes with an basic owners manual it doesnt cover what this camera is truly capable of. If you order this, while you are waiting for it to arrive, I highly recommend you go on the Canon website and download the Full Owners manual (free of course). Ive had it now for about 6 months and absolutely no problems.

I am pleasantly surprised by this camera. I previously owned a 60 D but sold it several years ago because the gear got too heavy. I really missed my DSLR so I ordered this not knowing exactly what I would get. I love the touch screen and the fact that the camera body itself is not that heavy. The images it can produce depends a lot on the lens, lighting, settings and using a tripod, which I have a tendency not to do. All in all I think it’s a very good camera for the money; however, this camera does Not have AFMA so unable to micro adjust sharpness of lens....that’s a big disappointment.

I bought this to shoot the eclipse. the camera does well, still learning its features and capabilities. very impressed with it. The only issue I had was that I shoot left eyed, so the back focus button is aligned to my right eye, and I tend to stick my thumb into my eye when using the back focus (if youre not left handed then no worries). still 5 stars

Vacationed recently in France, Spain and Portugal. Time to give the new camera a test run. Having already used the Rebel 3 for a number of years I was somewhat familiar with the Canon menu. This helped although the 77d is a world ahead of the old model. Without going into a lot of tech-talk, I will say the definition and clarity of the pictures using the same lenses I had used on the Rebel was a lot better. Money well spent on this upgrade.

Works very good. The size is much smaller and it is lighter than EOS 60D/80D. Nonetheless it perfectly fits to a smaller hands and it is more comfortable to take with to a family trip. The size and weight is almost comparable to a higher level mirrorless cameras.
