I bought this to replace some lenses I was using for gimbal work and have a quick and easy B-cam that I don't have to worry about re-balancing and swinging lenses on. The power zoom functionality is great, Image quality is fantastic and autofocus is very fast on modern sony bodies.

Great lens
Good lens with lots of capabilities Pros Good zoom range Good size and weight Cons Can knock the focus a zoom ring easily
Well pleased with purchase
Much better focal length range than standard length and amazed with the apature being constant F4 through out focal length. Picture very clear and sharp. Only small drawback is the shadow of the lens if the in built camera flash is used.
Light and versatile
I bought a SONY ALPHA A7in May last year and this lens to go with it.(Plus an .85mm) This is a superb lens that is useful for close up shots ,panoramic views or just when you need to get closer to a subject-such as a bird on a branch. My budget was limited but I still had a reasonable (and bewildering)choice of SONY lenses to chose from. I took my camera into the store and tried this out and has proven to be an excellent choice.

Great handling lens
Haven't shot with it much but it fits very well on the 6300. Build and autofocus are good.Distortion is quite high though.
